Producing a miniscule 1600 cases across the range of Brut, Extra Dry and Cartizze, Elysian DOCG is an exclusive, boutique producer making Proseccos in the heart of the village of Valdobbiadene. Elysian DOCG is produced by winemaker Desiderio Bortolin at his 20,000 case, state of the art, eponymous winery, Bortolin Angelo, in partnership with the Elysian project director and owner, Gianluca Salamon. The Elysian Prosecco DOCG is sourced from a selection of the finest fruit grown on the Bortolin estate’s, steep, hillside vineyards. All wines are held in tank and bottled in small lots to order ensuring freshness throughout the vintage. Elysian's elegantly bottled Proseccos are difficult to find, even in Italy. The Elysian Prosecco Superiore Brut DOCG was recently awarded the "Medaglione di Oro", as the single best, charmat produced wine in all of Italy.
The Elysian "Brut" DOCG displays a brilliant straw-yellow color enlivened by its strands of tiny bubbles. Its aromatic quality is fresh and rich in fruity aromas of apple and pear with a hint of citrus fruit, which fades into its floral bouquet. In the mouth it is soft, elegant, and beautifully balanced, thanks to its crisp acidity. It is the perfect aperitif, ideally served at 45°.
