The stunning Borgo Sugame Chianti Classico epitomizes classic, traditional, terroir driven production of artisan quality Chianti Classico. The Sugame Chianti Classic is deeply colored with an intense bouquet that expresses concentrated, violet, crushed cherry, iris and woodland berries aromas supported by herbal notes of rosemary and sage. The delicious, tightly knit, palate presents a core of ripe cherry, plum and red currant flavors with notes of earth and mint. Structured, complex and intensely concentrated, The Sugame Chianti Classico is supported by vibrant acidity and supple tannins that flow into a long, lingering finish.

Produced only in selected vintages, the Borgo Sugame Chianti Classico Riserva is sourced primarily from fruit grown on an extremely, old vines parcel in Sugame's estate vineyard, which produces some of the most concentrated, extracted Sangiovese to be found in the Chianti Classico region. The 2011 Sugame Riserva is a monumental example of the quality potential for 100% Sangiovese based wines produced without new, French oak barrel treatment and other manipulation in the cellar. The Sugame Riserva 2011 will be a long-lived wine that will easily evolve over the next two decades and is the finest wine produced to date at Borgo Sugame.
